Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning and execution of large-scale Data Center construction projects. In this role, you coordinate daily site activities and manage project documentation to ensure timelines stay on track. You assist in the oversight of MEP installations and structural builds, helping the team meet the high redundancy and reliability standards of mission-critical facilities. You act as a key support pillar, ensuring clear communication between subcontractors, vendors, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Scheduling by tracking daily progress against the master plan to prevent delays.
  • Manage Documentation including RFIs, submittals, and change orders to keep records audit-ready.
  • Coordinate Subcontractors to ensure mechanical, electrical, and structural work stays aligned.
  • Assist in Cost Control by tracking expenditures and verifying contractor invoices against work completed.
  • Monitor Quality and Safety through regular site walks to ensure compliance with GxP and EHS standards.
  • Facilitate Communication by preparing weekly progress reports and meeting minutes for stakeholders.
  • Oversee Procurement Tracking to ensure critical equipment like chillers and generators arrive on schedule.
  • Support Commissioning (Cx) by organizing testing data and verifying that systems meet design specs.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of project coordination experience, ideally in Data Centers or industrial construction.
  • Understand basic blueprints, MEP systems, and the fundamentals of power distribution.
  • Demonstrate skills in project tools like Procore, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
  • Possess a high level of detail for managing complex files and technical submittals.
  • Interact professionally with diverse teams, from site laborers to senior engineers.
  • Identify potential site issues early and suggest practical solutions to keep the project moving.
