Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Automation Engineer with a strong background in Siemens automation systems to join our team on an FMCG project located near Utrecht. The ideal candidate will have excellent command of the Dutch language and will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency and productivity in our FMCG manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using Siemens PLCs, HMI, and other automation technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand process requirements and integrate automation systems into existing manufacturing infrastructure.
  • Program, test, and debug automation software and systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for automation systems, including troubleshooting issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead and participate in the commissioning of new automation equipment and systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, specifications, and operational manuals.
  • Train staff on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in automation technology and FMCG industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automation engineering, specifically with Siemens automation systems (PLCs, HMI, etc.).
  • Fluency in Dutch and proficiency in English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of FMCG manufacturing processes and requirements.
  • Proficiency in programming, testing, and commissioning Siemens automation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
