Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Automation DeltaV Engineer to join our team for a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) project based in Switzerland. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with DeltaV systems and a strong background in automation engineering within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing automation solutions to ensure the efficiency and compliance of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using DeltaV systems to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation requirements and integrate DeltaV systems into existing manufacturing infrastructure.
  • Configure and program DeltaV distributed control systems (DCS) to meet project objectives and performance criteria.
  • Conduct testing, validation, and commissioning of automation systems to ensure reliability, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for DeltaV systems, including diagnosing and resolving complex issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for DeltaV automation systems.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in DeltaV automation technology, and propose innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of automation processes and systems to meet the evolving needs of the organization and industry standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a focus on DeltaV systems.
  • Proficiency in configuring and programming DeltaV DCS, including knowledge of batch processing and recipe management.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP, FDA).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in automation-related software and tools.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
