Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Lead Engineer to join our dynamic team in Germany within the pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will take on a leadership role in developing and implementing automation solutions to enhance manufacturing processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions utilizing Siemens PLCs, HMI, and other relevant technologies to optimize manufacturing efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate automation systems seamlessly into existing infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and scalability.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the programming, testing, and debugging of automation software to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
- Develop and enforce protocols and standards for automation system development, documentation, and maintenance to ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity.
- Lead the commissioning, qualification, and validation activities for automation systems, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to meet project timelines and objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to automation in the pharmaceutical sector, incorporating best practices into project designs and strategies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automation engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Expertise in automation technologies, particularly Siemens PLCs, HMI, and SCADA systems.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as GMP, GAMP, and FDA guidelines, related to automation in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Proven track record of leading successful automation projects from conception to implementation, including commissioning and validation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
