Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Project Lead to join our dynamic team in Europe for an upcoming pharmaceutical project. The ideal candidate will take on a leadership role in designing and implementing state-of-the-art automation solutions to enhance production processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions for a new pharmaceutical production facility, utilizing one of the advanced technologies such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS) including DeltaV, PCS7, or other relevant systems to optimize manufacturing efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including process engineering, quality assurance, and IT, to integrate automation systems seamlessly into the new facility’s infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and scalability for future growth.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
- Oversee the programming, testing, and debugging of automation software, ensuring optimal performance, functionality, and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and enforce protocols and standards for automation system development, documentation, and maintenance, ensuring regulatory compliance and data integrity, particularly with GMP and GAMP guidelines.
- Lead the commissioning, qualification, and validation activities for automation systems, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to meet project timelines and objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to automation in pharmaceutical manufacturing, incorporating best practices into project designs and strategies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in automation engineering, with significant experience in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as DeltaV and PCS7, and familiarity with MES, SCADA, and PLC systems.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements such as GMP, GAMP, and FDA guidelines related to automation in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Demonstrated track record of leading successful automation projects from conception to implementation, including commissioning and validation, within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
