Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented Automation Engineer to join our team for an exciting pharmaceutical project based in Netherlands. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automation engineering within the pharma industry and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing automation solutions to ensure the efficiency and compliance of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement and maintain automation solutions with Allen-Bradley PLC systems to optimize pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation requirements and integrate automation systems into existing manufacturing infrastructure.
  • Configure and program distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to meet project objectives and performance criteria.
  • Conduct testing, validation, and commissioning of automation systems to ensure reliability, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for automation systems, including diagnosing and resolving complex issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for automation systems.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in automation technology, and propose innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of automation processes and systems to meet the evolving needs of the organization and industry standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Has experience in automation engineering, preferably within the pharmaceutical, food or FMCG industry.
  • Proficiency in configuring and programming DCS and Allen-Bradley PLC systems, including knowledge of batch processing and recipe management.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP, FDA).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in automation-related software and tools.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
