Automation Engineer (Allen-Bradley)

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Resident Automation Engineer with 2-3 years of experience in the manufacturing industry to join our team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Allen-Bradley PLCs, SQL, Kepware, ThingWorx, Ignition, Batch Programming, and strong knowledge of automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support Shop Floor Equipment:

  • Provide technical support for automation systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Propose and execute corrective/preventive maintenance for automation systems, including routine software backups and control panel cleaning.
  • Monitor equipment operating parameters and update monitoring systems to ensure operations meet control specifications

 

2. ERP Integration Support:

  • Troubleshoot ERP to PLC data connections and maintain software and equipment for data communication between ERP and shop floor.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure smooth operations of ERP integration.

 

3. Automation Projects:

  • Draft user requirement specifications for automation projects.
  • Develop software codes for minor process improvement projects.
  • Liaise with equipment vendors to ensure compliance with specifications during installation and commissioning.
  • Direct and monitor vendor activities to ensure systems are delivered as per design documents.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in automation engineering within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLCs, SQL, Kepware, ThingWorx, Ignition, Batch Programming.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Experience in drafting user requirement specifications and developing software codes.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Eligibility to work in Singapore is required.
