Job Description

The Biotechnologist plays a crucial role in supporting cGMP operations within our biologics production facility. In this role, you drive the execution of core manufacturing processes, ranging from upstream cell culture scale-up to downstream purification. You will act as a technical lead on the floor, collaborating with engineers for equipment setup while developing methods to optimize and control the manufacturing process. By maintaining rigorous quality standards and leveraging SAP for inventory management, you ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality biologics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Upstream Operations by managing cell culture processes, including thawing vials and scaling up cultures to production levels.
  • Lead Downstream Purification through column chromatography and tangential flow filtration (TFF) to ensure product purity.
  • Master Equipment Readiness by operating glass washers and autoclaves, and performing Cleaning-In-Place (CIP) and Sterilization-In-Place (SIP) procedures.
  • Manage Inventory and Data using SAP and LIMS systems to ensure material availability and accurate record maintenance.
  • Perform Buffer and Media Preparation according to strict formulations to support production schedules.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to assist in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of critical process equipment.
  • Drive Process Improvement by developing and implementing methods to modify or better control manufacturing workflows.
  • Maintain cGMP Compliance by conducting rework, performing quality testing, and upholding meticulous documentation standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree or Diploma in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome; prior internship experience in a biologics manufacturing environment is a significant advantage.
  • Possess good knowledge of SAP and LIMS systems, alongside Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP documentation and aseptic manufacturing principles.
  • Apply troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve process deviations on the floor.
  • Hands-on attitude and a willingness to learn complex manufacturing tasks.
