Commissioning Engineer (Data Centre) (SG/MY/ID/TH)
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our team for data centre projects. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all systems and components of the data centre are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the commissioning process for critical data centre systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, and other essential infrastructure.
- Perform rigorous testing, start-up, and validation of all data centre systems to ensure they meet design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.
- Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning documentation, including test scripts, procedures, reports, and as-built drawings, ensuring that all commissioning activities are thoroughly recorded.
- Identify, document, and resolve issues during the commissioning process. Collaborate with design engineers, contractors, and project managers to implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all commissioned systems adhere to the highest quality standards, with a focus on reliability, redundancy, and performance critical to data centre operations.
- Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and expectations. Provide regular updates on commissioning progress and ensure client satisfaction with the final deliverables.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with local regulations, industry standards, and environmental guidelines specific to data centres.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement of commissioning processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in future projects.
- Provide training to the client’s operations and maintenance teams on system functionalities, operation, and troubleshooting. Ensure a smooth handover of all systems to the client.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commissioning mission-critical facilities, preferably data centres. Experience with electrical systems, HVAC, fire protection, and other data centre infrastructure is essential.
- Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, UPS, generators, and fire suppression systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during commissioning, ensuring systems are operationally ready.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, contractors, and team members.
- High attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering work of the highest quality and reliability.
