Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry to join our team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in leading and executing commissioning activities for new automation equipment and systems, ensuring smooth integration, functionality, and performance within pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate commissioning activities for new automation equipment, systems, and facilities in compliance with project schedules, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop commissioning plans, protocols, and procedures for automation systems, ensuring alignment with project objectives, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to plan and execute commissioning activities, including factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and integration testing.
  • Conduct functional testing, performance testing, and validation of automation systems to ensure proper operation, functionality, and compliance with design specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, system failures, and performance discrepancies during commissioning activities, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Generate commissioning documentation, including test scripts, test reports, and validation documentation, in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams to facilitate the transition from commissioning to operational phases.
  • Collaborate with validation teams to ensure alignment between commissioning activities and validation requirements, facilitating the validation process for automation systems.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, inspectors, and auditors during commissioning activities and inspections, providing documentation and support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities, test results, deviations, and corrective actions, ensuring documentation traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning engineering, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and DCS, with experience in Siemens automation systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to commissioning, validation, and qualification of pharmaceutical manufacturing systems (e.g., GAMP, FDA regulations).
  • Proficiency in commissioning methodologies, tools, and techniques, with a focus on testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues and system discrepancies.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and compliance in commissioning documentation and processes.
  • Proactive approach to project management, with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize commissioning activities to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
