Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Drafter with experience in solar facility design to join our team. As a Drafter, you will play a key role in preparing precise technical drawings and plans for the design and installation of solar facilities. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to develop detailed schematics that ensure efficient and effective project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed drawings and plans for the design and installation of solar facilities, including photovoltaic (PV) panels, inverters, and related infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and develop accurate technical drawings that meet industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Utilize CAD software to create and modify drawings based on engineering specifications and field data.
- Ensure all designs comply with local codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Review and interpret technical specifications, schematics, and blueprints to ensure all drawings are accurate and complete.
- Assist in the preparation of design documentation, including site plans, electrical diagrams, and mechanical layouts.
- Maintain and update design files and records to ensure all project documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Provide support during the installation phase by updating drawings and designs as needed and assisting with any technical queries.
- Conduct site visits to gather data and verify site conditions when necessary.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Associate’s degree or diploma in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in drafting and design, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other design tools.
- Strong understanding of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) panels, inverters, and related components.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing technical drawings and plans.
- Familiarity with local codes, standards, and safety regulations related to solar facility design.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams and project managers.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into accurate drawings.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Willingness to conduct site visits and gather field data when necessary.
