Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Specialist to join our team at a leading food manufacturing plant in Singapore. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in EHS management, with a specific focus on contractor safety management, fire alarm systems, pest control, waste management, and sustainability projects. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the food manufacturing industry and a valid WSHO (Workplace Safety and Health Officer) license are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and rectify non-compliance issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
- Perform hazard assessments and develop risk mitigation plans.
- Implement and manage safety programs to minimize workplace hazards and risks.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
- Monitor and manage environmental impacts related to the manufacturing process.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Develop and implement environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Lead and participate in EHS-related continuous improvement projects.
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure EHS considerations are integrated into daily operations.
- Provide support for the projects.
- Collaborate with external auditors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate EHS policies, procedures, and updates effectively to all employees.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Valid WSHO (Workplace Safety and Health Officer) license is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS engineering within within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations and their application to EHS programs.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing EHS programs and policies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in EHS management software and tools.
- Demonstrated track record of successful project delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
