Job Description
The M&E Manager leads the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems for large-scale construction or industrial projects. In this role, you oversee the technical core of the building, including power distribution, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. You ensure that all building services integrate seamlessly, operate efficiently, and comply with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead M&E Strategy by managing the end-to-end delivery of building services from design through to final handover.
- Oversee Technical Design to ensure mechanical and electrical systems meet project specifications and efficiency goals.
- Coordinate Subcontractors and specialized vendors to ensure work aligns with the master project schedule.
- Manage Quality Control by performing site inspections to verify that installations meet industry standards and local codes.
- Drive Problem-Solving by resolving technical clashes between MEP services and structural elements during construction.
- Control Project Budgets by tracking M&E expenditures and approving contractor claims for work completed.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage System Commissioning to verify that all equipment, such as chillers and switchgear, operates correctly under load.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in M&E management, ideally on large-scale commercial or industrial sites.
- Deep understanding of HVAC systems, LV/HV power distribution, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Strong grasp of the commissioning process and MEP coordination within BIM environments.
- Communication Skills: You simplify complex technical requirements for non-technical stakeholders and site teams.
- Proven track record of managing diverse teams and high-value technical subcontracts.
