Job Description
The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality standards are met. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze production workflows, implement improvements, and troubleshoot process issues. The role requires a solid understanding of process engineering principles and an ability to contribute to both ongoing production activities and new product introductions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for increased efficiency, reduced waste, and improved product quality.
- Provide technical support in resolving process-related issues, working closely with production teams to minimize downtime.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives focused on increasing productivity, reducing costs, and enhancing safety
- Develop and maintain process-related documentation, including process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and validation protocols.
- Analyze process data and performance metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and ensure process control.
- Ensure that all processes adhere to regulatory standards, including FDA, GMP, and safety guidelines.
- Work closely with R&D, quality, production, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth process integration and scaling of new products.
- Provide training to operations personnel on new or modified processes to ensure safe and efficient production practices.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology industries.
- Proficiency in process design, simulation, and optimization software (e.g., AutoCAD, Aspen Plus).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience with process validation, equipment troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to identify and resolve process-related issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present technical information clearly.
- Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards, including FDA, GMP, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
