Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our procurement team within the pharmaceutical sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of high-quality materials and services necessary for our operations. Your expertise in the pharmaceutical industry will be crucial for navigating the specific challenges and regulatory requirements of procuring materials and services in this field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to the pharmaceutical industry’s unique needs and regulatory environment.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts, terms, and prices while ensuring the quality and reliability of supplied products and services.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities in meeting quality, regulatory, and logistical requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, manufacturing, and R&D, to understand their procurement needs and specifications.
  • Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  • Monitor and manage risks associated with the supply chain, implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to procurement in the pharmaceutical industry, including GMP and FDA guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain procurement policies and procedures, ensuring they align with industry best practices and company standards.
  • Analyze and report on procurement activities, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, specifically within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry’s supply chain, including regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
