Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in MATLAB, Minitab, or similar software, along with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. As a Production Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical products, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Research & Development to develop and implement manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical products.
  • Utilize engineering principles and methodologies to design, optimize, and troubleshoot production processes, equipment, and systems to meet quality, cost, and productivity targets.
  • Conduct process validation studies, equipment qualification, and risk assessments in accordance with regulatory requirements such as cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Analyze production data, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance process reliability, efficiency, and safety.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical support and training to production personnel to ensure proper execution of manufacturing processes and adherence to quality standards.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams for investigations of deviations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies related to pharmaceutical manufacturing to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support new product introductions, technology transfers, and scale-up activities by providing technical expertise and guidance to ensure successful implementation in production.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in production engineering within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Minitab, or similar software for data analysis and process optimization.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP regulations and experience with process validation and equipment qualification.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive process improvements and resolve technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong project management capabilities.
  • Continuous learner, adaptable to change, and committed to personal and professional development.
