Job Description

The Project Engineer drives the qualification and commissioning of new process equipment within a regulated manufacturing environment. In this client-side role, you act as the owner’s representative to ensure that equipment modifications, technology transfers, and new installations meet operational needs. You bridge the gap between technical execution and internal standards, overseeing the journey from initial installation to final handover while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Equipment Qualification and commissioning activities to ensure new process systems reach full operational readiness.
  • Champion the Owner’s Perspective by coordinating directly with internal QA, EHS, Operations, and Engineering stakeholders.
  • Manage Change Control processes, including technical impact assessments and documentation, within a live GMP environment.
  • Support Plant Modifications and improvement works for existing projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Facilitate Technology Transfers by verifying that all equipment and processes are prepared for new product introductions.
  • Direct Commissioning Activities for both new and modified assets to ensure they meet design specifications.
  • Enforce GMP and Safety Standards across all project activities to maintain a compliant and hazard-free workplace.
  • Oversee Project Close-out by managing documentation completion, system handover, and final qualification reporting.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in process equipment qualification and commissioning within a regulated manufacturing sector.
  • Strong experience working in a client-side or owner’s engineer capacity.
  • Demonstrate a practical understanding of GMP change control and the documentation requirements for technology transfers.
  • History of successfully interfacing with QA, EHS, and Operations teams to drive project goals.
  • Experience supporting facility modifications and equipment upgrades.
  • Effectively translate technical requirements into actionable plans for diverse cross-functional groups.
