Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator to join our team for a high-profile data center project based in Singapore. As a Project Estimator, you will play a critical role in the planning and execution of the project by providing accurate cost estimates, analyzing data, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for the data center project, covering all phases including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Analyze project requirements, drawings, and specifications to develop comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather essential information for accurate costing.
- Evaluate and select the most suitable materials, equipment, and services based on project needs and budget constraints.
- Identify potential risks and provide cost-effective solutions to mitigate them during the project lifecycle.
- Monitor and update cost estimates as project scopes evolve, ensuring that all changes are documented and reflected in the project budget.
- Provide cost comparisons and value engineering options to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions, including detailed cost breakdowns and justifications.
- Participate in project meetings, providing insights and updates on cost estimates and budget forecasts.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of costs, industry rates, and vendor pricing to support future estimating activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in project estimating, preferably within the data center, construction, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of cost estimation methodologies, construction processes, and materials.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools, as well as MS Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with local regulations, standards, and codes related to construction and data center projects.
