Job Description

The Senior Electrical Engineer drives the design, implementation, and optimization of complex electrical systems for large-scale industrial or mission-critical projects. In this role, you take full ownership of power distribution architectures, ensuring high reliability, redundancy, and safety. You lead technical reviews and provide expert guidance from the initial concept through to final commissioning. Your expertise ensures that all electrical infrastructure meets stringent performance specifications and complies with global regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Electrical System Design by developing robust power distribution layouts, including high, medium, and low voltage systems.
  • Manage Technical Specifications for critical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, and backup generators.
  • Perform Complex Calculations including load analysis, short circuit studies, and protective relay coordination to ensure system stability.
  • Oversee Contractor Execution by reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and BIM models to verify alignment with design intent.
  • Direct Commissioning Support by troubleshooting electrical failures and verifying that systems operate correctly under full load conditions.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance with local electrical codes and international standards like IEEE, NEC, or IEC.
  • Mentor Junior Engineers by conducting technical workshops and performing peer reviews of design deliverables.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement by identifying energy-saving opportunities and implementing advanced power monitoring solutions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically within Data Centers, Pharmaceuticals, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Possess expert knowledge of power system modeling software such as ETAP, SKM, or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Deep understanding of redundant power architectures (e.g., N+1, 2N) and emergency power systems.
  • Apply structured problem-solving to resolve complex electrical faults and design discrepancies.
  • Translate technical electrical data into clear project requirements for multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven track record of managing technical workstreams within high-value capital projects.
