Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Technologist with hands-on experience in the installation of solar facilities to join our team. As a Technologist, you will be directly involved in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar energy systems. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure the efficient and safe implementation of solar projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including mounting of panels, wiring of inverters, and other related electrical work.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project plans and specifications and execute installations accordingly.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine optimal placement of solar panels and equipment.
  • Ensure all installations comply with project specifications, industry standards, and local building codes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the installation and commissioning phases of solar projects.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on solar equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians and installation crews on best practices and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs, and provide detailed reports to project managers and engineers.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or certification in Electrical Technology, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the installation of solar PV systems or other electrical installations.
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy systems, including PV panels, inverters, and battery storage systems.
  • Experience with electrical wiring, conduit installation, and other related electrical work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site.
  • Strong understanding of local electrical codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy equipment and working at heights.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
  • Familiarity with using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
